12/11/12 Class Notes
By David Sunfellow
This week’s class began with a few minutes of silence. Then I shared the following news and updates…
New Book: ‘Revelations of Profound Love’
Ann Frances Ellis, Ph.D., feels she has been guided all along the way to write Revelations of Profound Love. It is based on her doctoral dissertation, Profound Love as Revealed by Near-Death Experiences, which examined 478 near-death experiences to learn about the love reported so often by those who returned from trips to heaven. She concluded that seven primary themes emerged from their reports:
• We don’t die
• The nature of profound love is greater than we ever imagined
• Profound love has higher qualities
• Profound love emanates from many sources
• We are all one and love is our essence
• There is a reason and purpose for everything
• In life, love is most important

NDEr Nancy Clark Seeks Shared Death Experiences for New Book
From PMH Atwater’s 12/09/12 Newsletter
Nancy Clark, national award-winning author, speaker, researcher, coordinator for the Columbus, Ohio IANDS (International Association for Near-Death Studies) has announced that she is researching the subject of “shared near-death experiences.” In these cases, healthcare providers or loved ones of someone who is dying or who died, and who are in good health themselves, are sharing a portion of the dying individual’s actual experience.
These shared-near-death experiencers are important because they challenge the skeptic’s beliefs that near-death experiences can be explained away by the lack of oxygen to the brain, anesthesia, drugs, etc. Whatever is causing these remarkable otherworldly experiences that occur to healthy, sane individuals, is unknown at this time. But it is very important that we begin to take a closer look at these shared-near-death experiences – so we can learn more about consciousness, death, and dying.
Nancy had a near-death experience during childbirth, died, and woke up in the morgue. Years later, she had a near-death-like experience while delivering a eulogy. This time she didn’t have to come close to death, suffer serious illness or physical trauma, to undergo the identical components of a classic near-death experience. She is the first reported near-death-like experience to be documented in Kenneth Ring, Ph.D.’s book, Heading Toward Omega and is also featured in Beyond the Light by P. M. H. Atwater, and in other researcher’s books. For this reason, she is in an excellent position to undertake this important research (she was not close to death at the time of her own near-death-like experience). As a result, she has the compassion and knowledge to understand what others experienced who were healthy and not close to death themselves, at the time of their shared-near-death experience. She welcomes the opportunity to discuss your shared-near-death experience with you, for her research project.
She is currently looking for stories from individuals, hospice and healthcare providers who have personally experienced a shared-near-death experience — for her research — and a book she will be writing on the subject. Confidentiality is assured. Please contact Nancy for more information. E-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org. Website: www.freewebs.com/nancy-clark
Update on IANDS Training Video for Medical Professionals
IANDS and Blue Marble Films are on track to produce a training video for medical professionals on caring for patients who have had a near-death experience by February 2013. Altogether, they have now raised $16,700 in donations, more than 80% of their goal. They are seeking an additional $3,300 to make this video a reality. With pledges for one-to-one matching funds, every $10 you donate means an additional $10 will be added. To make this important video a reality, you can make a secure donation by clicking here. For more information about this project, visit the project’s Facebook page.
NHNE’s New NDE Community on Google+
NHNE’s new NDE community is up and running on Google+ If any of you would like to join, the group is located here.
Joining the group will allow you to meet others who share your interest in NDEs. Down the road we will be taking Google’s video “Hangouts” for a spin, which will allow those of us who want to, to video conference with one another from different parts of the world. The community currently has 31 members.
Here’s the welcome message I sent out to the first wave of folks who joined:
Hello Everyone! Thank you for joining this NDE community on Google+. This space has been created for all of us to share NDE-related news, events, videos, books, websites, quotes, questions, quandaries — and to get to know and support other people who share similar interests. If you have the time, I would love to hear from each one of you. Who are you? Why have you decided to join this group? What interests you about NDEs? If you have any websites, blogs, networks, or web pages where folks can learn more about you, please take a moment to share them.
Most of you probably know that I run a net-based eco-system of NDE-related websites and social networks. You can find a list of most of them posted in the left hand column (just click on the “View more” link at the bottom of the “About” text). My primary interest in NDEs is identifying the core truths presented by these experiences and then wrestling this information into daily practices that can transform our lives into ever increasing reflections of the divine. In recent months, I’ve been teaching a class in Sedona on this subject. We meet every Tuesday night at a local church and explore these topics with gusto.
What’s your story?

NDEr Alon Anava
After the news and updates, we began playing Alon Anava’s video from where we had left off in the previous class. In this last portion of Alon’s NDE we heard what happened to him AFTER his NDE and how he responded to his dramatic experience by becoming an orthodox Jew. This part of the video ran from 1:05:31 until the end.
To learn more about Alon Anava, go here.
There will be no class on Christmas Day, Tuesday, December 25th, or New Year’s Day, January 1st, 2013. The first NDE class of 2013 will take place on Tuesday, January 8th!
A Newly Emerging Spiritual Path
Unlike spiritual paths that arose from the ideas and inner experiences of lone, isolated human beings, the path presented by near-death experiences is emerging as a direct, grassroots revelation that millions of people from all over the world are receiving and sharing. If we explore this newly emerging path deeply enough, we discover that all religions, philosophies, and cultures are honored; that science and spirituality are celebrated; that both the human and spiritual side of our natures are cherished and embraced. In short, near-death experiences present us with a universal, all-inclusive, perfectly integrated spiritual path that revolves around three core truths: 1. We are all one; 2. Love is the essence of life; 3. We are here, in this world, to become perfect embodiments of the divine.
