Fire From Heaven:
Deep Listening to Near Death Experiences

By Joseph Dillard

Order A Copy Here

THUMBNAIL_IMAGEHave you ever had a near-death experience? If you have, would you like to increase its usefulness for you today and for the rest of your life? If you have not, have you ever had another type of mystical experience, such as a sense of oneness with nature, with others, or with life itself in such a way that you were filled with awe, compassion, and deep inner peace? The transpersonal method explored in this book is called Integral Deep Listening, and it can provide you with graduated, progressive openings into the mystical. It is designed to help you access and become six core aspects of waking up, enlightenment and the sacred dimension of life itself: fearless confidence, compassion, wisdom, acceptance, inner peace, and witnessing.

Integral Deep Listening (IDL) is much more than a self-help tool. Each time you do an interview, you let go of your present, limited perspective on your life. You access and become qualities that are attributes of freedom, enlightenment, and genuine mystical experience. These qualities are personified by the characters in your dreams and your daily life issues. When you learn to practice integral deep listening you learn to access your emerging potentials to find and follow your inner compass.

Seeing, Telling & Living The Truth

The main portion of the class began with me summarizing what we learned in our last class:

We heard how NDEr Steve Fanning’s life review that left him with a horrible sense of self judgment as he saw how he “was buying into his own lies” about how well he believed he had lived his life, and how right he had been.

We listened to NDEr Howard Storm describe how Jesus and the angles he encountered had no interest in the track meet competitions he won or lost. Instead, they were primarily interested in the relationships and how we encouraged or hurt one another.

We listened to Dr. George Ritchie say that “in that realm, there is no such thing as hypocrisy because one of the first things you become aware of is that the other being is totally aware of what you think, so you can’t think one thing and say another. There’s no such thing as misunderstanding what he meant.”

I reminded everyone of how NDEr Anita Moorjani described how when she returned to this world after her near-death experience, she saw everything differently. She saw how the world was full of sleeping people who were controlled by fear, as she had been. She also saw how the mass media was used to instill, energize and perpetuate these fears.

Next, we watched two videos that helped flesh out some of these ideas: They Live and Get Service. And I read a couple insightful quotes from the Pathwork Lectures of Eva Pierrakos.

Last week’s class ended with me saying that the inability to be honest with ourselves and others arises from lack of development. Based on “The Formula,” I offered a list of 14 practical suggestions for deepening awareness and fostering growth.

Then we tackled the assignment from last week. Since most people didn’t do the assignment, we passed out paper and pens and asked everyone to write down their thoughts on paper. Those who wanted to, then shared what they discovered. Here was the assignment:

In the coming week take time to sit down, get quiet, and imagine yourself experiencing a life review. During your life review, where do you see yourself being dishonest? Focus on the largest areas first, and search for ways you can reverse the tide and begin bringing health and healing into these areas. Come to class next week prepared to share what you learned from this exercise.”

After this part of the class was finished, we watched the first half of the video below, from the 00:00 to 24:04.

Future Classes

Our next NDE class will take place on Tuesday, March 19th from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at St. Andrew’s (see below for directions).

A Newly Emerging Spiritual Path

Unlike spiritual paths that arose from the ideas and inner experiences of lone, isolated human beings, the path presented by near-death experiences is emerging as a direct, grassroots revelation that millions of people from all over the world are receiving and sharing. If we explore this newly emerging path deeply enough, we discover that all religions, philosophies, and cultures are honored; that science and spirituality are celebrated; that both the human and spiritual side of our natures are cherished and embraced. In short, near-death experiences present us with a universal, all-inclusive, perfectly integrated spiritual path that revolves around three core truths: 1. We are all one; 2. Love is the essence of life; 3. We are here, in this world, to become perfect embodiments of the divine.
